April 5 - Freda

Day Ninety-six.

As I was headed to a friend's house this evening I felt the Lord leading me to a gas station that is on the way. I didn't need gas but I stopped anyway. I pulled up to a pump and as soon as I got out, Freda left the store and walked back to the car parked at the pump opposite from mine. I stopped her and asked her to pray and she said that she knew that God had sent me.

Freda is the manager of the gas station and she is dealing with a lot of unreliable employees. On top of that, her mother has dementia and she is the main caretaker. With all of that going on, she is exhausted and just overly burdened by these two huge responsibilities.

So, I prayed for God to lift her burdens, heal her mother, and bring in a new wave of employees that would show up and show ambition. When we were finished praying she kept talking to me. She shared how hard it has been to care for her mother, how little sleep she is getting because people haven't been showing up for the night shift, how she is just emotionally drained... as she was talking, it became clear that she could overcome all of this emotionally if she knew that the Creator of the Universe were in her corner.

I stopped her and brought her attention to the Enemy's work in every situation that she had mentioned. To me, it was clear that he had his hand on everything that was attacking her. I think it's so important to know your enemy so that you know who you're fighting against. As soon as I drew her attention to this she knew that I was right.

I talked about how the Holy Spirit could give her the power to fight back against what Satan is doing to her and that just speaking the name of Jesus would make him leave. She confirmed that she had asked Jesus into her heart and we talked through some practical ways she could stand against Satan with just her words. We prayed again for God to fight for her and then we broke off the assignments of the Enemy in Jesus name.

She left visibly lightened. It was such a powerful encounter, y'all. It was so clear that even just those few moments together had changed the atmosphere for Freda. Hopefully it also changed her circumstances at work and with her mother.
