August 1 - Tonya

Day Two Hundred & Twelve.

School supply shopping is the worst. I wish my kids went to one of those schools where we could pay for the prepackaged box of stuff because I hate crowds with all of my little pea pickin' heart. I love school supplies. I love providing for teachers and schools. But, lines and full parking lots in August are my very own first world nightmare. Somebody pass the sweet tea, this southern girl does not do heat.

My friend Beth and I decide to go school supply shopping together. Why one of us didn't stay at home with the FIVE children, I'll never know. But, we got it done and at the end of the trip I met Tonya in the parking lot and she agreed to let me pray for her.

Tonya's brother in law had just been diagnosed with cancer. She told me his name but I don't remember it now. I prayed for healing in his body and spoke against the spirit of infirmity. Then, I prayed for Tonya and her family to be able to join together and help with the emotional fall out from the diagnosis as well as to strengthen their faith that God can still do miracles.
