Day Two Hundred & Thirteen.

My six year old son is kind of a stinker. I'm just being real. But, sometimes he has really good days and we like to reward his great behavior with ice cream. Today he asked for Basket Robbins (Baskin Robbins, for those of you that don't speak kid). On our way in, I noticed an older couple and I asked them if I could pray. The woman said she is having trouble with her heart and that the doctors have told her that she's in heart failure. She will have to get a heart cath soon and she wanted prayer for that. They had recently returned from Birmingham where they'd seen their son and his family. Their son is a preacher. We talked for a few minutes about the Lord's faithfulness and their legacy and then I asked if I could put my hand on her heart. I realize that's a pretty big ask for a stranger so when she agreed I was surprised.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Jesus is in the business of fixing hearts, y'all. She didn't have any symptoms before I prayed so we weren't able to do any kind of "test it out" session after praying. However, she said most of her symptoms present when she is tired or if she has walked a long way. So, I asked her to keep an eye on it for the rest of the day and I'd keep praying for healing. I prayed that the doctors would be amazed next time they look at her heart because of the miraculous healing that God performed. She told me that if that happened she'd tell them about the lady in the ice cream shop who prayed for her.
