August 4 - Gwen

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day Two Hundred & Fifteen.

Gwen was sitting on a bench as I was heading out of my local WalMart. She was in the area where the carts are just relaxing. I sat next to her and asked if I could pray. All of my kids walked to the $.25 machines and looked at the toys. I was so proud of them for not interrupting while we talked.

Gwen recently had a heart attack and asked that I pray over her health. She told me that she just turned 75 and she felt like she was looking at the end of her life. She wanted to make it to age 85.

I invited the Holy Spirit to come while we were praying. I asked that he stir up inside of her body and bring healing with every blood cell that flows through her heart. I spoke directly to the heart and told the muscles to strengthen in the name of Jesus. I spoke against the spirit of infirmity as well as anxiety and high blood pressure. Finally, I prayed over her life and asked the Lord to bless her faithfulness by giving her the next ten years without incident. She asked specifically to make it to age 85 and I know that's something that God can specifically honor for her. James 4 says "You have not because you ask not." So I asked.
