August 6 - Laquisha

Day Two Hundred & Seventeen.

Laquisha was so excited when I asked to pray for her. However, she didn't want me to pray for her. She asked if we could pray together for the 680 people who were detained in the ICE raid near our hometown as well as their children and families. Which really turned out to be perfect because my heart was heavy about the same thing.

We prayed for those who were arrested as well as the children who would come home from school to find out the news about their parents. We asked that God draw near to the brokenhearted and protect them from the thoughts that would inevitably sink them deeper into sadness. No matter what your political affiliation is, it was a hard day for a lot of people, it felt good to join with another believer to lift them up.
