Febraury 24 - No one

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day fifty-five.

Wow. Today did not go as expected to say the least. I took my kids to a park with my friends and approached a woman as we were leaving. I asked her if I could pray and she initially agreed but it was probably the angriest thing she had said all day. She was so unhappy about it. So I gave her an out by saying "It's ok, you don't have to." and she said "Yeah, I really need to go play with my little girl on the playground" and then just walks away. So, no biggie... I keep going.

Later, I go to pick up my groceries and decide I will just pray for the person who brings the groceries to the car. His name is Joshua and I ask him if I can pray. He says "sure you can." and then promptly walks away. Not just walks to the back of my car but, tells the other grocery delivery person that he has to go inside and completely leaves the parking lot. Ok. I'm seeing a pattern.

So I take my kids to the Dollar Tree to get a reward for having good behavior this week. When we get in line to pay for our items I ask the woman in front of me if I can pray for her. She says "No, thank you. I'm fine."

Three strikes and you're out folks. By that time it was time to feed my kids dinner and I didn't have another opportunity to find a stranger. I still want to make it to 365 people by the end of this year so I'm going to pray for two people tomorrow if I have to hold them down and force pray.

Just a little encouragement for those who are walking through their own rejection journey. It isn't me these people are rejecting. I did my job by saying "yes" when God asked me to pray for strangers. Luke 10:16 says "Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me." So I will continue to pray for those people that rejected the Lord's healing today. Whether they know it or not, they need a touch from Him and He will be there waiting when they are ready.
