I met Karen in the produce section at Kroger. She giggled because I was yawning while picking up bananas. I don't know what to tell you, Karen. Sunday is my nap day.
When I asked her what I could pray for, her whole countenance changed. She said "I've recently become a widow. So, I could use some prayer about that." as she looked down at the floor. My heart just sank. Just in those two sentences it was so clear how much she was grieving. So we prayed.
I asked God to draw near like he promises to do for those who are grieving. I asked him to show her where He was in this situation. To remind her that she isn't alone. To surround her with his love. & thanked him for not leaving her husband while he was dying.
Such a heartbreaker. We hugged when I finished and I told her I'd keep praying.
