January 25 - JT

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day twenty-five.

Walking through Walmart with my oldest girl, I saw JT in the frozen isle shopping. I asked my daughter to watch my purse and I asked her if I could pray for her. She said "Wow! Today is such a perfect day because it has just been crap!" We laughed and she told me her story.

Her husband has recently been placed on dialysis. His kidneys don't function well enough and he has to have a machine do the work for him. It's very painful. They've had to attend training so that they can get this done at home. Her whole day had been full of chaos and she just needed the peace that Jesus could bring.

I put my hands on her shoulder and I could just feel her exhaustion. I prayed for strength and clarity of mind. I prayed for her husband's healing and if necessary, his placement on the kidney donor list. I asked God to remove the brain fog that comes with fear and pain and to give them both the strength and endurance to withstand this storm. I thanked God for her faithfulness in sickness and in health, for her willingness to stick by that promise. I asked him to reward her faithfulness by drawing near to them in this hard season.

Please take a moment right now to stop and pray for JT and her husband.
