January 27 - Roderick & Jessica

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day twenty-seven.

I had to go to Walmart for cat food and while I was walking to the back of the store I saw a couple shopping together. The man was black and the woman was white. The Lord just gave me so much compassion for how I know they have been treated for their difference in race. People can be cruel. So, I asked them if I could pray.

As soon as I explained myself and asked to pray Jessica said "Yes, PLEASE pray for us. Please." Roderick chimed in with her and agreed. He asked which church I go to, so I told him. I asked what they needed prayer for and they paused and said "Just everything. Everything the devil is trying to throw at us right now." I asked if I could put my hand on their shoulders and then I prayed.

I blessed their willingness to allow God to come in and change their life. I told them how much he longed to hear from them each day. That he waited with baited breath until the moment that his kids talked to him. I blessed their relationship and asked God to multiply their good times and bring forgiveness and healing for the hard times. I spoke against the work of the enemy & I blessed their home.

Just that easy. Who did you pray for today?
