July 10 - Cheverly

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day One Hundred & Ninety.

Cheverly and I met while buying dog food. She was very hesitant to let me pray but eventually agreed after I reassured her I wasn't going to pray if she didn't want me to. She asked me to pray that she would be happier. I asked for specifics and she assured me that there wasn't one big thing wrong in her life but that she just has a general sense of unhappiness.

Before praying I took a minute to just speak identity over her. I told her that she is God's most prized possession. That everything on this earth was created so that her heart would be drawn to know Him more deeply. That he wants a relationship with her and wants to bring joy that she can't explain into her life.

I finally prayed over her identity as the daughter of the Creator of the Universe. I thanked Him for knowing her intimately and for continuing to desire a deeper relationship with her. I asked that He would bring His holy spirit to fall on her right then so that she could feel His goodness and mercy over her and know that she meant the world to Him.

This sweet lady who was at first very hesitant to pray with me at all was saying "yes Lord" and nodding her head by the end of the prayer. When we finished praying I confirmed that I could tell she was feeling better and we talked about how God wants to grow that feeling by having a relationship with her.
