July 28 - Yvonne

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day Two Hundred & Eight.

Yvonne parked next to me in a parking lot and when I cam out to get in my car, she was still sitting in hers with the window down. When I asked if I could pray, she said that she was hesitant because she's always heard to be cautious of people who ask to pray for her. She said "Not all prayers are good prayers." I tried to assure her that I believe in Jesus and it's only in His name that I pray. She agreed and said she'd just gotten out of church.

She said she'd recently run into a lot of hard times. She was looking for a new place to live, she had a bad case of bronchitis, and she just had a lot of people coming against her. I asked if I could put my hand on her shoulder while I prayed and she said "no." I asked if I could put my hand on her car and she agreed.

I prayed over her illness first. I could tell something was changing because she took a big long breath. I asked God to protect her from the enemy attacking her livelihood and her relationships. I spoke against anyone speaking divisively asked God to stand angels around her to guard her day and night. I asked Him to provide for her a place to live as well as an income. When I finished praying she said "That sounded just like what I would have prayed for myself." I told her that I believed that Holy Spirit sent me to her so that I could pray for her and she agreed.
