July 5 - Jo

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day One Hundred & Eighty Five.

Jo is a manager at my local Walmart. She asked if I could pray over her relationship with her daughter. She is currently raising her granddaughter and the daughter is also living with her. She’d Like her daughter to get a job and be able to support herself so that she can support her own child. We prayed for healing and forgiveness over their whole family. For the Holy Spirit to release inspiration and initiative in Jo’s household so that her daughter would find the will to care for herself and own her daughter.

After we prayed we talked a little more. Well, Jo talked, I listened. Through everything she said I could just hear the fear that her daughter would never be able to stand on her own. So I spoke to her a little about fear and how it tears down the mind to make it believe things that aren’t true. We talked through some things that are true about her daughter (she is healthy, intelligent, kind) and that seemed to give her a new outlook on her daughter’s capabilities. I left her after encouraging her not to believe the worst about her baby girl.

Miya so hard sometimes when someone has hurt you or someone you love. You want to believe their awful. But God doesn’t believe that about them, ever. And He knows them way better.
