June 15 - Melanie

Day One Hundred & Sixty Six.

Today I met Melanie at the paint counter in Lowe's. She agreed to let me pray for her and said she is right in the middle of moving her family from North Carolina to Mississippi. She was buying paint for her three children to paint their rooms. Her husband recently got a promotion and they're moving unexpectedly for his job. She seemed fine about it but, I can't imagine how tough that must be. Leaving friends and family and moving to a state where you don't know anyone? So hard.

We prayed and thanked God for the provision of this promotion and for honoring her husband's hard work with such an honor. But then we prayed for their hearts. For God to draw near to them through this season and to provide friends that become family in Mississippi to get them through the transition.

After praying we talked a little longer about the Mississippi weather and the rules about going outside in the month of August.... Just don't do it. I gave her my card so that she could call if she needed any local help. Hopefully she will. :)
