Wow. I can't believe it has been so long since I've been able to sit down and write this blog. I've been traveling, and still working full time, and my kids are home for spring break so... I haven't even been getting to bed until 11-12. I don't know about you but, 9:30 is my bedtime. No exceptions!
I have not been neglecting my one stranger each day, I just haven't had time to write about it. So today's blog is going to include every person I've prayed for since March 11th.
March 11 - I met a woman at Wal-Mart whose husband Wesley, has dementia. She is the only caretaker and she is 78 years old. She was having a hard time dealing with all of the stress and drama of everything and asked me to pray for him. I can't remember her name but we both prayed for Wesley. For God to make his presence known in her home and to protect her from the discouragement and exhaustion that comes with caring for someone who can't care for themselves.
March 12 - Spring break trip to Florida!! I sat next to Cedric on my flight to Orlando. He was traveling with his son and headed home for the week. He asked me to pray for a new job, so I did. When I was finished praying he told me that he also has an every day facebook post where he talks about what God is doing in his walk and how it is impacting him. We talked about my blog and exchanged information so we could follow each other. So cool to meet another believer on the plane and be able to encourage him in his ministry!
March 13 - Universal Studios in Orlando, standing in line for the Hogwarts Express. By this point I've realized that I haven't been blogging about my encounters so I've charged my children with remembering who I prayed for and what we prayed about. I turn to the person behind me in line and ask if I can pray. Her name is Jessica and she agrees. She is from Panama City, Florida and they are still dealing with issues from the hurricane they've recently been through. She asked me to pray for her city and the people who are still going through trouble because of losing their homes.
I'll be honest... I tried and tried to get her to give me something personal to pray about but she just wouldn't go there with me. I prayed for Panama City and specifically those that she comes in contact with.
March 14 - Kelley is the cashier at a Dollar General, somewhere in Florida. I genuinely have no idea where I was. I needed to grab a few things and I asked her if I could pray for her. She said she had back pain so I asked to pray about that. Before I prayed, I asked if she could describe the pain by telling me how badly it hurt on a scale of 1-10. Unfortunately, she was not in any pain at the moment! OH NO!!! I can't even tell you how disappointed I was. haha! I really wanted to see her healed!!! So... I just prayed for any future back pain and for the stress of being on her feet all day.
I told her to pay attention when she got home from work and if she didn't have any back pain to remember how much her Father loves her and can't wait to get to know her more. So... praying that Kelley feels no pain!
