I noticed Juanita getting out of her car on my way into the grocery store. She was having trouble walking and I met her near the motorized wheelchair carts where she was choosing which one to take. I asked her to pray and when she agreed I asked her to go ahead and sit in a chair. She was breathing heavily and unable to catch her breath. Through gasps, she shared a little about her story. In 2017 she was in the hospital for a routine knee surgery and something went wrong. Her body became septic and her organs began to shut down. She somehow survived and that is why she has so much trouble walking and breathing now.... all symptoms of her 2017 health failure.
I put my hands on her shoulders and began to pray for her body. Her breathing immediately changed and she was able to speak without gasping after that. She continued sharing her story and told me in more detail how she died on the table due to complications from the sepsis. She was told that she would never walk again, or live on her own but she is doing both of those things now. She is already a walking miracle.
I began to share some of the things God was already showing me. That she is a fighter, a survivor, and that He made her strong willed on purpose because He never wanted her to give up. I asked God to guard her from an attack from Satan who has tried to kill her before and wants to destroy her. I spoke against the spirit of infirmity and told it to leave in Jesus name. I asked God to stand warriors around her in the form of other believers to pull her up when she doesn't feel that she can get up on her own. I prayed over her feet and her legs & told the pain to leave.
When we finished praying her pain had diminished and she was able to walk easier. We talked more about her story and I promised to continue to pray for her. It ended up being a pretty powerful encounter and she left feeling better physically. I could visibly see the difference in her breathing and in the look on her face after praying. I would have liked to pray for her again but she was sort of driving away on her scooter by that point so I didn't want to chase her down.
