March 27 - Nakesha

Writer's picture: Summer SlovakSummer Slovak

Day Eighty-seven.

I took the kids to Rally's for dinner and whatever I ordered was taking a long time. The drive through attendant asked me to pull forward so that they could bring my food to me when it was ready. Nakesha brought the food to my car and after I thanked her for my meal I asked if I could pray. All three of my kids were in the car and ready to eat but they all stopped to pray with me.

She asked me to pray over her family. I asked for specifics but she just wanted a covering over them for protection and favor. (my words, not hers) We held hands through the window and I could hear my oldest daughter agreeing "yes, Jesus" while I prayed.

Once again I find myself praying for someone else and needing the same covering for myself and my own children. Draw near to the brokenhearted. Help us to forgive even when it isn't earned. Guard our hearts. Lead us to walk with integrity. Put a shield around us and protect us from the lies of the enemy.

"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full--pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back." Luke 6:38
