May 14 - Diane

Day One Hundred & Thirty Four.

Diane was the cashier at PetSmart and I was hunting down my stranger for today. I love going in to check and see if they have any kittens for adoption. #CrazyCatLady Diane (who shares my mama's first name) asked me to pray over her health. I tried to pry for more details but she wasn't sharing. So, I just prayed for her body and her mind to be filled with the Holy Spirit and renewed to reflect how He made it to be. This ended up being a pretty short encounter because she wasn't totally happy about praying in the middle of the store. As soon as we finished praying she sort of brushed me off to go help a customer who was not asking for her help.

It's hard not to let this discourage me. I'm always looking for something grand to happen when I pray. I want it to look a certain way and feel a certain way. But, the truth is, I don't know where Diane was emotionally today. I can't say that I've always been in a good place for someone to pray for me. So, I'm just letting my faithfulness be enough. I showed up, which means the Holy Spirit inside of me showed up, and maybe at the very least Diane felt loved.
